Gracie is a 3 year old female Blue Merle Great Dane
Gracie is spayed and up to date on all her vaccinations
Gracie has tested heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative and flea preventative
medications

Gracie was surrendered by her owners in Kentucky after the recent birth of their
second child. Gracie was very sweet and gentle with their 6 year old child and
all the 6 year old's neighborhood playmates would visited regularly
and was fine with the new baby prior to her surrender
Gracie's family could no longer afford to care for Gracie with the added expense
of having another child and lived in a very small house
They were very sad to have to part with Gracie and it was very obvious upon surrendering
Gracie to our Director that it was a very difficult decision for the family
Many tears were shed when it was time to say goodbye to Gracie

This is not the first time Gracie has lost her home because of the birth of a child
The family that surrendered Gracie to CODA received Gracie a year earlier
from a family who couldn't keep Gracie because they had a new baby
So poor Gracie has twice been displaced due to the birth of babies
in the families which she had grown to love
Therefore we will not accept any applications from anyone of child bearing age
who may be interested in adopting Gracie

We want Gracies next home to be her FOREVER HOME where once she bonds
to her new family she will never have to be displaced again

Gracie knows many commands.
Gracie knows sit, give me paw, lay down and walks pretty nicely on a leash
although she pulls a bit she will stop pulling when you ask her to.

Gracie is very thin and will be seeing our Veterinarian soon to determine if there are any medical issues
which are causing her to be so thin. Gracie is a very picky eater but absolutely loved
hot dogs and showed us all the commands she knew once we offered her a piece of hot dog.
Gracie is currently in our most experienced Great Dane Foster home in Northfield Ohio
and receiving much love and affection while she gets over loosing yet another family
Gracie has bonded to the 16 year old male child in the foster home and likes to
sleep with him in his room at night
Gracie is fine with other dogs and there were no issues whatsoever when
Gracie met the two resident dogs in her foster home which included a blind male German Shorthaired Pointer
and a little female maltese mix
Gracies hips and conformation appear fine but Gracie is very thin and weighed in at 90 lbs

Home with previous experienced raising a Great Dane from a young puppy into their senior years is required
Excellent Veterinary References will be required to adopt Gracie
An " In home Visit" is required to adopt any of our adoptable animals
Gracie would love being a part of a family who has another friendly dog as a companion and playmate
Gracie is fine with children
We WILL NOT consider any applications from anyone of child bearing age who plans on having
additional children due to Gracies loss of two families due to birth of babies
